This is a really simple experiment conducted to happen out the different types of emmets sing for different nutrient types. To travel in front with the experiment I placed the nutrient points in two different topographic points and checked the figure of emmets and the different types of emmets for every 15 proceedingss. I have used some graphs to picture the values.

Research Question: Which type of nutrient, meat, sugar, staff of life and crushed foliages will pull ruddy and black emmets in concrete and fly-by-night parts?

Hypothesis: I assume that meat will pull ruddy emmets in fly-by-night and concrete conditions and sugar will pull black emmets in concrete and fly-by-night conditions. In both the conditions, the meat will be pulling the most emmets than the other nutrients. I expect sugar to pull to more emmets than staff of life and crushed foliages. I expect less emmets will be attracted for the crushed foliages.

## Variables:

Independent –

Types of nutrient like Meat, Crushed Leaves, Sugar and Bread.

Different Locations like in the out-of-doorss on Concrete and under the shadiness.

Dependent- The figure of emmets

Controlled Variables:

Temperature- The temperature was changeless as the experiment was conducted in a similar status.

The measure of nutrient – The sum of meat, sugar, crushed foliages and staff of life used in the experiment was 1g each, which was weighed utilizing digital balance.

The size of the Aluminum foil – The Aluminum foil cut into equal parts before topographic point the nutrient substances on it.

## Materials Required

Meat ( 2g )

## Procedure

Roll up four types of nutrient ( meat, crushed foliages, sugar and staff of life )

Weigh them utilizing Digital Balance ( 1g each )

Put each nutrient point on a piece of aluminium foil.

Place them on a concrete surface under a light beginning.

Record the figure of emmets for every 15 proceedingss for an hr.

Repeat the experiment, by puting the nutrient points in a fly-by-night status in the out-of-doorss.

## Discussion

There are chiefly two types of emmets, one is carnivorous and the other is herbivorous in my school. These are differentiated by their colour, ruddy and black severally.

When the four nutrient points were kept on the concrete surface, meat attracted the highest figure of emmets 188 and 183 in test 1 severally. All these Ants were carnivorous ‘ emmets. Bread besides attracted carnivorous ‘ emmets in test 1 it had 55 and 67 for test 2. Sugar attracted a really few emmets 4 and 7, in test 1 and test 2 severally. These emmets were herbivores. However, the crushed foliages failed to pull any type of emmets. In graph 3, there were no emmets seen in crushed foliages. In sugar, on an mean 5.5 emmets were attracted. For staff of life, on an mean 6.1 emmets were attracted. Highest emmets were recorded in meat ( 186 ) .

In the fly-by-night status, the highest Numberss of Ants were spotted on staff of life. All these emmets were carnivorous. Trial 1 recorded a sum of 82 emmets and test 2 recorded a sum of 93 emmets. In the shadiness, Sugar failed to pull any sort of emmet. This is similar with crushed foliages, no emmets were seen. The carnivorous emmets were besides found meat in the fly-by-night status. Trial 1 recorded 23 emmets and test 2 recorded 33 emmets. In graph 4, Sugar and crushed Leafs did non pull any emmets. The meat attracted 28 emmets ; the highest emmets were recorded in staff of life.

## Evaluation

When the values were recorded, there was more clip spent on entering the value of one location which caused a little hold in entering the values for the following location. To get the better of this, the experiments should be conducted individually. Another restriction is the count of emmets, which was non to the exact value as some of them were inside the nutrient point and a little motion will do a perturbation to the emmets. Therefore, to enter the values accurately, the emmets on the nutrient atoms can be captured counted and later released. The aluminum foil used as the base for nutrient atoms might hold affected the figure of sing emmets either due to the contemplation of Sun or troubles in mounting the foil. The usage of tissue paper will avoid the contemplation of Sun beams and rocks could be kept on the four sides of the paper which non merely lowers the tallness of the paper but besides prevents the paper from winging off.

## Decision

As assumed in the hypothesis, the ruddy emmets were attracted towards meat. As I assumed the black emmets were attracted towards sugar in the concrete status which is supported by the informations. On an norm in the concrete status, meat attracted more emmets followed by the staff of life, sugar. In both the conditions, crushed foliages did non pull any emmets. This supports my Hypothesis that meat attracts more emmets. In Fly-by-night status, the staff of life attracted the highest emmets ( 87.5 ) and meat attracted 28 emmets. The sugar and crushed foliages were non attracted by the emmets in the fly-by-night status.
